Degor is a traditional game from Bhutan. For all those who do not know, Bhutan is the Asian country in the eastern part of the Himalayas. The game is played with two spherical flat stones. The size and weight of the stone are not determined. It depends on the player. Stones are thrown towards two ground targets located at the distance of 20 metres.
Degor can be played as a game of individuals or team game. Team rules are valid in games of more than three players. Traditionally there are teams of seven players. When throwing stones each player swings the arm below the shoulders. The point is scored when the distance between stone and the target is less than the distance between the thumb and middle finger of an outstretched palm. It is allowed to remove the stone of your opponent with your own stone. The winner is a player or team who reaches 21 or some lower odd number of points determined before the game.
Degor is traditionally part of different festivities. There are games between villages too. Betting is quite common.
